About the Club
"Our objective is to open the entire world of aviation to kids of all ages as to allow them a wide variety of choices for a career in the field of aviation."
Our Past
The Centennial Aviation Club started out as a small high school flying club at Centennial High School in a quiet Atlanta suburb. After only a year, it was acclaimed by several local newspapers including the Roswell Beacon and Alpharetta-Roswell Revue. That same year, the club took more that seven students on their first free flight in a general aviation aircraft! During its second eyar, CAC saw an even greater success, and it was dedicated that the club had to "go public." In February of 2008, CAC became an LLC and officially opened its doors to the general public. Doing so marked the beginning of a new era in that flights were also moved from Lawrenceville to the more convienient DeKalb Peachtree Airport. During this time, the club also acquired a local online-based flight school, Atlanta Pilot Training. During its third year, a second and third branch were opened at North Springs Charter High School and Fulton Science Academy. After adding those schools, membership really skyrocketed. In an effort to ensure uniformity between schools, meetings were moved to the DeKalb Peachtree Airport.
Our Present
Today, CAC is thriving. With an average membership of 45 parents and students, we hold meetings twice a month at PDK (DeKalb Peachtree Airport). As always, we still give members their first flight free. To date, over 200 members, kids and adults, have safely flown with us. Along with the meetings, members are offered a variety of perks and benefits which include access to high profile events, discounted and free flights, behind-the-scenes tours, scholarships, and much more.
Our Future
Where, how far, and how fast our club goes is based strictly upon the wants and needs of our members. After all, what is a club without its most valuable asset? Our members will help write the next chapter in our book. Become one today!
